hi :) im Luke, an artist and embodied practitioner with Dreamshadow, offering transpersonal breathworkshops on the Good Sine sound system.
like countless ritual and somatic technologies throughout history, transpersonal breathwork involves intentional breathing carried by music and situated within a group container, as a means of opening, of feeling beyond the habitual and deepening one's scope of awareness. this experience can grant access to a wide variety of expanded modes in which powerful releasings, changes, and understandings can occur. these are full-day sessions emerging from a deep lineage and built on a foundation of trust co-created by us as a group, to safely hold whatever may arise. as a participant, you will in turn act as both breather and sitter. the facilitators will be present to offer further support and to offer optional bodywork, upon request. we hold a fully non-hierarchical circle, grounded in direct experience with no further abstractions and with the understanding that you are the expert of yourself. we will not guide you to think or move or be in any particular way beyond that which is necessary for the safety and respect of all present. the facilitators are here simply to support your journey. the technique involves only the body - all beliefs and worldviews are welcome and compatible.

from the greek for "turning towards wholeness", holotropic refers to the experience of everything as interconnected, meaningful, alive; what some might call a mystical or ecstatic state - those numinous flashes that can occur spontaneously or through prayer, meditation, chanting, dreaming, fasting, spinning, lovemaking, crisis.
the format of these workshops was developed by Stanislav and Christina Grof throughout the 1970s with the aim of exploring the holotropic state of consciousness. we follow the Dreamshadow Transpersonal Breathwork model, established by Lenny and Elizabeth Gibson in the direct lineage of the Grofs' work. the holotropic experience can be blissful, harrowing, beautiful, confusing, tranquil, energizing, tragic, empty, overwhelming, sensual, hilarious, wrathful, and absurd - sometimes all at once. it can amplify feelings in the body and call up material spanning the full range of your biography, things you remembered and things you forgot and things of which you may not have even been aware: vibrations of the womb, the birth process, and even the transpersonal - the mythic domain beyond the self, what might be referred to as the collective unconscious; notions and images that don't belong to any one of us, but all of us, together. this process can involve intense physiological, psychic, and emotional realities and is not recommended for anyone who is pregnant, has cardiovascular, glaucomic, or epileptic conditions, a strong risk of psychosis, or has recently undergone surgery. none of these things automatically prevent you from participating, but will simply require further conversation and consideration. this work has changed my life and i look forward to sharing it with you. see you in the circle, Luke Loseth ![]()
