to bring
(necessary) comfortable clothing, in layers well-sealed water bottle non-fitted sheet blanket pillow lunch (recommended) snacks earplugs eye shades slippers or warm socks floor chair or yoga cushion a talisman or object of personal significance to consider this is an intensive process which will require the full extent of your attention and physical stamina. for the sake of your own experience, take care of yourself in the days leading up to the workshop. eat well, sleep well, drink water, fresh air and exercise. please don't attend intoxicated or hungover. if you feel yourself coming down with something or know there's a possibility you will be contagious, let us know and we will work out a refund. depending on the notice, we may need to keep a percentage, to cover our costs. we will begin precisely at 9am. please arrive on time or a little earlier. ensure also that you will be able to remain present for the entirety of the day's activities. we should be wrapped up by 7pm at the latest. there will be a morning and an afternoon breath session, each lasting approximately 3 hours. you will spend one session breathing and one session sitting for a breather. the sessions will follow a musical arc, from intense activation all the way to grounding, heart-rooted conclusion, at which point there will be some time for the breathers to request bodywork, if they wish, and to do a mandala drawing. throughout the day you may range from motionless cool to actively warm - dress comfortably, in layers; bring an extra blanket or sweater. leave your phone in your bag or jacket pocket. we are here to show up for each other. do your best to keep your attention on what is happening in front of you. the music will be loud and the sounds of the room may be intense. as a breather, this is all fuel for the fire, so to speak - material to work with. as a sitter, however, it may be distracting you from your breather and so earplugs can be beneficial here. we also recommend eye shades or a heavy blanket as another way to feel insulated and safe, and to go deeper into yourself. we will eat in the studio. pack a light lunch or grab something nearby - there are some nice restaurants and cafes around the corner. it will be a one-hour break so remember to factor this into your decision. there will be a one-hour introductory zoom meeting the evening before, at 6pm, for those who are new to our workshops. everything that transpires will be held in utmost respect and confidence: while listening, simply listen, and refrain from offering your own interpretation or advice. once you have rejoined the wider world, you may share your own experience in any way you see fit, but please leave others' stories in the room. the power of this process rests in our facility to foster a safe, supportive and contained space for our selves to unfold to their utmost. love yourself and everyone else who is along for the ride. 🤍 |
